The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has on Friday commissioned the official residence of the Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) and other key infrastructure projects at the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre (MLAILPKC) in Jaji, Kaduna State.
During the commissioning, Lieutenant General Lagbaja emphasized the vital role of Regimental Sergeant Majors in providing leadership direction and instilling discipline among personnel.
According to the statement relayed to Enugu Reporters by the Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations MLAILPKC, Captain Tamuno Sinivie said the newly completed RSM residence is an exquisitely designed four-bedroom bungalow, equipped with modern amenities, including a spacious living room, kitchen, dining area, 15 KVA generator, solar power, and industrial borehole.
The COAS noted that the new accommodations are part of the COAS welfare package, designed to enable RSMs to discharge their duties effectively.
Represented by Major General Sani Mohammed, Chief of Training Army, the COAS acknowledged that the RSMs remain the custodians of Regimentation in the Nigerian Army
He commended the Commandant MLAILPKC, Major General Ademola Adedoja, soldiers and staff for their professionalism in delivering pre-deployment training for the Nigerian Army troops embarking on a peace support operations by international standards.
The Army Chief further congratulated the RSM of the Centre and handed over the keys of the residence to him.
The COAS also inaugurated a newly constructed car park, an access road linking the school and students’ hostel, and a remodeled photo stand.
Among the senior officers who attended the event include, Major General SG Mohammed, Major General OG Onubogu, and Major General MLD Saraso.
Enugu Reporters gathered that the development aligns with the COAS’s command philosophy, premise on sound administration and personnel welfare within the Nigerian Army. The project was executed in accordance with the COAS’s vision to provide benefiting accommodations to RSMs of formations and institutions of the Nigerian Army.
