In a bold move to boost the morale of troops and reaffirm the Nigerian Army’s commitment to eradicating terrorism, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division and Commander Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Brigadier General Abubakar Haruna, has charged troops of 28 Task Force (TF) Brigade (Bde) Chibok to sustain their onslaught against Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT) and other insurgents in the North East.
During his operational visit to 28 TF Bde Chibok on Wednesday, 11 December 2024, Brigadier General Haruna emphasized the importance of loyalty, discipline, and adherence to the rule of law.
According to a statement relayed to Enugu Reporters by the Division’s Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Ajemasu Yake Jingina said the GOC was GOC was received by the Brigade Commander , Brigadier General Bede Amakor upon his arrival where he was given an operational brief.
While addressing the troops, he stressed that the Nigerian Army, under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, is committed to upholding professionalism, troops’ welfare, and respect for human rights.
The GOC also warned troops against engaging in nefarious activities, such as arms racketeering, and emphasized that defaulters would face severe consequences.
He assured the troops of continued support to aid their operations and advised them to maintain regular communication with their families, ensure their welfare, and take leave to visit their loved ones.
Enugu Reporters reports that Brigadier General Haruna’s visit to Chibok is a testament to the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to ending the insurgency in the North East.
As the military continues to intensify its operations against Boko Haram, the visit serves as a morale booster for the troops, reaffirming their crucial role in restoring peace and stability to the region.
