In a demonstration of the Nigerian Navy’s commitment to supporting its personnel deployed in various operations, the Chief of Naval Safety and Standards (CNASS), Rear Admiral AM Ibrahim, Tuesday paid a visit to the naval contingent deployed in Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) in Jos, Plateau State.
The visit was part of the annual activities conducted by Naval Headquarters to Nigerian Navy (NN) contingents deployed in all Defence Headquarters-led operations.
During the visit, Rear Admiral Ibrahim expressed his satisfaction with the efforts of OPSH towards restoring peace and security in the joint Area of Operations.
He commended the troops for their hard work and dedication, reiterating the continuous support of the NN to the leadership of OPSH in achieving its mandate.
The CNASS also interacted with NN troops who were recently rotated, enjoining them to maintain discipline, shun criminality, avoid drug abuse, and restrict their involvement in settling civil disputes among civilians.
Rear Admiral Ibrahim emphasized that such matters are statutory responsibilities of the Nigeria Police Force.
He also delivered a goodwill message from the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) to the troops, acknowledging their contribution to the overall success of the Operation. The CNS wished the troops well in the Yuletide season.
The CNASS was accompanied on the visit by the Director of Operations, Rear Admiral PS Anabraba, SO1 Operations Commander JU Abdullahi, and Leading Seaman Arona SC.
The visit underscores the Nigerian Navy’s commitment to supporting its personnel and ensuring their well-being, even in the most challenging operational environments.
