The Armed Forces of Nigeria Remembrance Emblem is a revered symbol that serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by the nation’s heroes and the ongoing efforts of the military to safeguard the country’s territorial integrity, lives, and property.

In order to demonstrate respect and solidarity, it is imperative to correctly identify and wear the emblem.

The correct placement of this insignia (Emblem) is on the *left side of the chest* , where the heart is located.

This strategic positioning signifies a heartfelt recognition and a sense of ownership, thereby demonstrating one’s appreciation for the sacrifices made by the military and their families.

Regrettably, some individuals, including those in the political class, mistakenly wear the Emblem on the right side of their chest, which is a gross error. This incorrect placement undermines the significance of the emblem and the importance of the occasion. It is essential that those who usually place the Emblem on their right side take corrections forthwith and reposition it to the left side of their chest.

By wearing the Emblem correctly, signifies respect for the military and their sacrifices, as well as their commitment to the values of patriotism and national pride. The correct usage of the Emblem serves as a beacon of hope and a reminder of the importance of unity and solidarity in the face of adversity.

Furthermore, it enables us to collectively honour the memories of our fallen heroes and show appreciation for the bravery and selflessness of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

It is worth noting that the use of the Armed Forces of Nigeria Remembrance Emblem commences immediately after its launch by the President and expires on January 15th, a day set aside for the celebration of Armed Forces Remembrance Day, after which it remains dormant until the next season. It is important to know when, how and where to use this revered  insignia.

In conclusion, the proper utilization of the Armed Forces of Nigeria Remembrance Emblem is a matter of great importance, and it is essential that individuals wear it correctly to demonstrate their respect and solidarity with the nation’s heroes and the military.

This can promote a sense of national pride and unity, while also honouring the sacrifices made by those who have served and continue to serve the nation.
