The Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Oluyinka Soyele, has reaffirmed the military’s commitment to defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity, describing it as “non-negotiable.”
Speaking during an operational visit to the tactical headquarters of the DHQ Special Operations Brigade in Balle, Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto State on Friday ,General Soyele emphasized the importance of maintaining the country’s borders and ensuring the safety and stability of its citizens.
The Coordinator Joint Media Coordination Centre Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi in a statement said General Soyele highlighted that the Nigerian military will not compromise on its duty to protect the nation’s territorial integrity.

General Soyele noted that the military will continue to work tirelessly to dismantle the influence of terrorist groups and other criminal elements that pose a threat to national security.
The Theatre Commander reaffirmed the military’s readiness and commitment to flush out the Lakurawa terrorist group along the Nigeria-Niger border.
Enugu Reporters reports that the group has been responsible for a series of attacks and kidnappings in the region, and the military has vowed to bring them to justice.
General Soyele also appealed to local communities to cooperate with the military in the fight against terrorism, stressing the importance of intelligence sharing and community cooperation in achieving long-term peace and stability.

The development is seen as a major boost to the military’s efforts to combat terrorism and insecurity in the region, and is expected to have a significant impact on the country’s overall security situation, Enugu Reporters noted.
