In a move to strengthen ties and boost operational efficiency, the Commander Infantry Corps (CIC), Major General Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim, paid a familiarization visit to the Command Engineering Depot (CED) on Tuesday, 25 February 2025.
This was disclosed by the Infantry Corps Centre’s Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations, Captain Olusegun Abidoye on Tuesday.
During the visit, Major General Ibrahim assured the Commander Command Engineering Depot (CCED), Major General Babatunde Alaya, of the Infantry Corps’ unwavering support.
The CIC commended Major General Alaya’s contributions to the successes recorded in various theatres of operations, urging him to continue working tirelessly. He acknowledged the CED’s vital role in providing frontline support to troops, describing the Command as a pioneer in Research and Development.
Major General Ibrahim pledged to take the challenges observed during the visit to the relevant authorities for further support.
The CIC also encouraged the CCED to persist in producing drones and other innovations, emphasizing the importance of ongoing renovations in supporting future plans. Highlights of the visit included a briefing on CED activities, a tour of facilities, and an exchange of souvenirs between the CIC and CCED.
In a separate development, Major General Ibrahim advised the outgoing Chief of Staff (COS) Headquarters Infantry Corps Centre (HQ ICC), Brigadier General KU Sidi, to maintain close collaboration with other security agencies in his next assignment.
The CIC emphasized the importance of professionalism and hard work, thanking Brigadier General Sidi for his contributions to the Corps and wishing him success in his future endeavors.
During his vote of thanks, Brigadier General Sidi expressed gratitude for the CIC’s guidance, promising to make the Corps proud and continue learning from the CIC’s wealth of experience.
The sendoff ceremony included the presentation of a plaque to the outgoing COS and a group photograph.
