The Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI) is set to enhance the knowledge of participants in its Strategic Communication Course with cutting-edge training on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Information Management and Fact Checking.
This was disclosed by the Acting Commandant of NASPRI, Lt Col Adamu Ngulde, during the inauguration ceremony of the second quarter courses for 2025 on Friday.
Lt Col Ngulde revealed that NASPRI was collaborating with the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, University of Abuja, and Prof Ishaq Oyebisi Oyefolahan, Research Professor, Africa Centre of Excellence on Technology Enhanced Learning (ACETEL), to provide comprehensive training on current trends in Strategic Communication.
This partnership, according to the statement, aims to equip participants with the skills necessary to excel in their field.
The Acting Commandant emphasised the crucial role of Strategic Communication in modern public relations, particularly in aligning military messaging and narratives with national interest, managing public perception, and countering misinformation in both peace and conflict situations.
He also highlighted the significance of A1 Photojournalism and Graphic Design and Printing in documenting military activities, telling authentic visual stories, and boosting morale.
Lt Col Ngulde assured participants that NASPRI is committed to providing well-packaged training that meets the needs of each course.
He expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Olufemi Oluyede, for his unwavering support to the Directorate of Army Public Relations and NASPRI.
He also appreciated the Commander TRADOC NA, Maj Gen Kelvin Aligbe, and the Chief of Training (Army), Maj Gen AS Ndalolo, for their guidance and support.
Earlier, the Acting Chief Instructor of NASPRI, Maj Tonye Wenke, outlined the course expectations, emphasising the importance of meeting training objectives and acquiring skills to handle 5th Generation Warfare, which is information-based.
He advised participants to settle down quickly, familiarise themselves with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of NASPRI, and maintain the highest standard of discipline.
Enugu Reporters reports that a total of 76 students participated in the second quarter 2025 courses, comprising 16 Senior Officers for the Strategic Communication Course, A1 Photojournalism, and X3 Graphics Design and Printing.
