The Nigerian Army has commenced the 2025 Captain to Major Written Promotion Examination, with a strong warning to candidates against examination malpractices.
Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations TRADOC in a statement on Sunday said, the examination, which started on May 11, 2025, is being held at the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport (NASST) in Benin City, Edo State.
In his address to the candidates, the Commander, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC NA),
Major General Kevin Aligbe, emphasised the army’s zero-tolerance policy on examination malpractices.
He urged the candidates to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations guiding the examination and to focus on showcasing their knowledge and skills.
Major General Aligbe noted that the examination is a crucial step in the candidates’ career progression and that their performance will determine their promotion to the rank of Major.
He assured the candidates of the integrity and fairness of the examination process, warning that any infraction will attract severe sanctions.
He congratulated the candidates for the attainment of their watershed moment in their chosen military career and urged them to be focused and determined in the task ahead.
In his remarks, the Chief Host and Commandant of NASST, Major General Adebayo Adegbite, also urged the candidates to maintain decorum and discipline throughout the exercise.
Major General Adegbite also reminded the candidates that they have been subjected to a one-month cadre in the NASST for the 2025 CMWPE and that a mock examination was conducted to assess their readiness
He reminded them that the examination is a catalyst for shaping their career progression and that a good performance is expected of them.
He, therefore, wished them well and advised them to eschew any act of malpractices.
The examination is being closely monitored by senior army officials, including the Deputy Chief of Training (Army) and representatives from the Army Headquarters Department of Training and Department of Army Standard and Evaluation.
