In a vibrant celebration of visionary leadership and community development, the President Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), Mrs. Mernan Femi Oluyede, Thursday commissioned multiple landmark projects in Abuja.
The projects, executed by her predecessor, Mrs. Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja, include the NAOWA National Secretariat Complex, the remodelled NAOWA Event Centre, and the newly completed NAOWA Guest House, would have an enduring impact for humanity.
In her remarks, Mrs. Oluyede said these projects represent “foundational pillars for the Association’s ongoing mission to uplift lives and strengthen family support systems within the barracks and beyond.”
She expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, for his unwavering support to NAOWA and its objectives.
Delivering a goodwill message on behalf of the COAS, Major General Jamal Habu Abdussalam commended Mrs. Lagbaja’s visionary leadership, saying, “The successful completion of these projects stands as a testament to her dedication, foresight, and commitment to service during her tenure as NAOWA President.”
The event was attended by dignitaries, including presidents and representatives of sister associations, wives of Principal Staff Officers, and senior military officers. The ceremony featured cultural dance performances, goodwill messages, and a symbolic handover, celebrating continuity, vision, and shared commitment to NAOWA’s ideals.
Enugu Reporters noted that the commissioning of the landmark projects by the Association’s President marks a significant milestone in NAOWA’s mission to support Nigerian Army families and contribute to community development.
